Journal Entry #1

I might be a bit stretching the idea of collages with the following images but I just wanted to talk my favorite artist, Kim Jung-Gi. I've always felt that Kim's sketches and illustrations had a sort of a collagey feeling to them. Seeing as to how some of the figures and objects seem to exists different planes and perspective or at times a collections of figures and objects would unify to create a bigger figure/object.

  1. I dig these collages, mainly because of the art style in each of them. The subject matter in all of the images causes you to sit back and study each of them to get a sense for what is going on, or the meanings each piece may have.

  2. This guy has a masterful sense of perspective. The way he reconciles the viewpoint with the spherical/wavy landscapes is brilliant and surreal. Awesome, Mr. Isaac

  3. I really dig these. I've always loved complex, chaotic black and white illustrations.
